Return & Refund Policy

1. Our Commitment

At McDermott Studios, we take pride in the quality of our handcrafted woodworking products. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, we offer a 30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee on eligible products as described in this policy.

2. Eligibility

The 30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee applies to:

• All standard (non-custom) products purchased directly from McDermott Studios
• Products in their original or equivalent condition, showing no damage caused by the customer
• Returns initiated within 30 calendar days of the delivery or pickup date

The following are not eligible for the 30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee:

• Custom or commissioned orders (pieces built to customer-specific specifications)
• Products damaged due to customer negligence, improper use, or environmental exposure
• Products without valid proof of purchase and order ID number

3. Proof of Purchase Requirement

All return and refund requests must be accompanied by valid proof of purchase, including your original order ID number. Requests submitted without this information cannot be processed. Please retain your order confirmation at the time of purchase.

4. Planter-Specific Return Requirements

Due to the nature of our planter products, the following conditions must be met before a planter may be returned:

• The planter must be completely emptied of all soil, dirt, debris, mulch, rocks, and plant material
• The planter must be cleaned of residual moisture or organic matter to prevent damage during shipping
• McDermott Studios reserves the right to refuse a refund or assess a cleaning fee if a planter is returned in an unsanitary or improperly emptied condition

5. How to Initiate a Return

• Step 1: Contact McDermott Studios via email or the contact form on our Site within 30 days of receiving your product. Include your name, order ID number, the product you wish to return, and the reason for the return.
• Step 2: Our team will review your request and respond within 3–5 business days with a determination and, if approved, return instructions.
• Step 3: Once your return is approved, ship the product back to our address in Wildwood, Georgia using a trackable shipping method. The customer is responsible for return shipping costs.
• Step 4: Upon receipt and inspection of the returned product, we will issue a refund of the original purchase price plus reimbursement of your return shipping cost within 5–7 business days.

McDermott Studios reserves the right to deny any return request that does not meet the eligibility requirements stated in this policy.

6. Shipping Cost Reimbursement

Return shipping is initially the customer's responsibility. Once the return is received, inspected, and approved, McDermott Studios will reimburse the customer for reasonable return shipping costs. Expedited or premium shipping charges will not be reimbursed unless pre-approved. Please retain your shipping receipt as proof of cost.

7. Refund Method

Refunds will be issued using the same payment method used for the original purchase (PayPal, Venmo, or Cash App). Refund processing times may vary depending on the platform used. McDermott Studios is not responsible for delays caused by third-party payment processors.

8. Custom Orders — Cancellation and Deposit Policy

Custom and commissioned orders are not eligible for the 30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee. Customers may cancel a custom order subject to the following terms:

• A 30% deposit is required before work begins on any custom order
• There is no cancellation window — cancellation terms apply immediately upon order placement
• Upon cancellation, the deposit will be refunded minus: (a) the actual cost of materials already purchased or used, and (b) a 10% cancellation fee calculated on the total order value
• The remaining balance, if any, will be returned via the original payment method within 5–7 business days of cancellation confirmation

9. Damaged or Defective Products

If your product arrives damaged or with a defect attributable to workmanship, please contact us within 7 days of receipt with your order ID number and photographs of the damage.
